SUMMARY (21/09/2012): At least 111 martyrs today, mostly in Damascus where there was a new massacre in Buwaida district. As usual there were hundreds of protests, and as usual many places were under shelling. The bombing of Aleppo, Homs, Deir Ezzor and Jabal az-Zawiyah is particularly relentless. Today Assad said again that he will crush the opposition, yet at the same time he told an Egyptian newspaper that dialogue is the only solution. To show how much he really believes in dialogue, yesterday his forces arrested several leading members of the NCB, one of the few genuine opposition groups who are willing to talk to him. Not even the support of Russia and China could protect them. Meanwhile, the day after being accused of complicity with regular flights of arms from Iran, the Iraqis have intercepted a plane suspected of carrying arms to Assad from North Korea. How convenient. See the map for more info.

SUMMARY (11/09/2012): At least 115 martyrs fell today most of them in Aleppo, Hama province particularly the towns of Kafar Zita and Halfaya, Deir Ezzor and Damascus where the districts of Qabun, Hajar Aswad and Babbila are under shelling. Aleppo has became the new Homs, while the humanitarian situation in the original Homs keeps getting worse. We really appreciate the concern of the world with the UN announcing that more than 250,000 Syrians are now registered refugees in neighbouring countries (with many more unregistered, living in private accomodation), we also appreciate the concern of Angelina Jolie (former guest of the Assads) who took the time to visit Zaatari camp – nice PR job for her and the asshole Jordanian government. Speaking of assholes, it was Assad’s birthday today – is it by chance he was born on 9/11?

SUMMARY (10/09/2012): At least 120 martyrs have fallen today, mostly in Damascus and it’s suburbs. 36 people were summary executed in Tadamon, the shelling, round ups and executions have led to depopulation of many of the southern districts of the capital. Another 17 bodies were found in the east of Damascus, in a mass grave in Zamalka. Meanwhile, a group of captured Assad’s forces were executed at the weekend by a group calling themselves the Salman al-Farsi Battalion. The FSA has claimed responsibility for last night’s bombs targeting military facilitaties near Aleppo’s main stadium, which the regime said killed 30 people. Many districts of the city remain under heavy bombing. See the map for more info.

SUMMARY (09/09/2012): At least 112 martyrs have been killed today, mostly in Damascus and its countryside, while there was more heavy bombing of Aleppo where the wrecking of the water supply risks developing into a big humanitarian crisis. Massacres took place in the villages of Nafi’a (Daraa province) and Gernata (Homs province). We also have to mention that the destruction and violence has displaced tens of thousands of Syrian kids from their homes, both into neighbouring countries and inside Syria. Many of these kids have lost family members, friends, even parents and they are suffering from trauma and psycological shock. See the map for more info.

SUMMARY (08/09/2012): At least 172 martyrs were killed today, more than half in Aleppo where Assad’s forces shelled a field hospital killing most of those inside and one of the main pipes supplying drinking water to the city of 2.5 million has been broken. Meanwhile in Damascus the regime’s forces raided al-Basel hospital in Yarmouk Palestinian Camp whose population has been increased by thousands of displaced coming from other areas of the capital. It is important to mention that Syria didn’t have a civil society before the revolution while international organisations, with some brave exceptions such as MSF, are not prepared to actually enter conflict areas or work without explicit authorisation by the regime. So, while Assad has managed to make the death of 200 per day acceptable, the hundreds more that fall injured everyday do not even get mentioned and they are relying on the efforts of extremely heroic volunteers working with very limited resources. The regime’s deliberate denial of medical care is leaving many with serious life-changing injuries that could perhaps otherwise have been treated. See the map for more info.

SUMMARY (07/09/2012): At least 130 martyrs have been killed today mostly in Damascus and Aleppo. Two bombs exploded in the capital – in Rukn Eddin and Mezzeh – while the shelling continues on Tadamun and Yarmuk Camp. In Aleppo the FSA took over Hananu barracks close to the city centre, freeing 350 prisoners who were being held in a secret jail inside the base. Meanwhile, 2 Syrian diplomats in Malaysia and the attaché in Serbia have all announced their defection. See the map for more info.

SUMMARY (06/09/2012): At least 173 martyrs were killed today, mostly in Damascus and its countryside. In the capital, the regime forces again shelled Yarmouk camp, Tadamun and Assali while 23 executed bodies were found in Zamalka and 15 in the town of Deir al Assafir in the countryside. In Daraa, the regime attacked Tal Shehab on the Jordanian border, a transit point for those fleeing southwards, while bulldozers were at work razing homes in Hama. Meanwhile Aleppo is becoming the new Homs with hundreds of people fleeing the clashes everyday. The number of refugees stuck on the Turkish border not allowed to enter is now estimated at 10,000. Finally, more than 60 people died when their boat sank off the coast of Turkey, according to most reports they were Syrian and Iraqi refugees trying to get to Europe. See the map for more info.

SUMMARY (05/09/2012): At least 260 martyrs today, including at least 23 kids and 8 women, mostly in Aleppo, where the regime’s air strikes and shelling of rebel-held areas killed dozens, and Damascus. The discovery of dozens of bodies found executed and dumped is becoming a daily occurence in the capital and it’s suburbs while for the 3rd day the regime continues to use bulldozers to raze homes in Harasta and Qaboun. Meanwhile at the Arab League today, Morsi once again took a strong stance against Assad. While we are not exactly fans of the Egyptian President it is good that Egypt seems to be reasserting itself as a regional power again. See the map for more info.

SUMMARY (04/09/2012): At least 150 martyrs have fallen today, mostly in Damascus. In Douma, Tadamun, Moaddamiya and Daraya dozens of bodies were executed and dumped, some were burned and couldn’t be identified. While the world watches Assad’s airforce destroying the country and murdering women and children, the FSA fighters continue to try to impose a no-fly zone themselves by attacking the regme’s military airbases. In Idlib at least 1 more jet was shot down today. Last month at least 100,000 Syrians fled the country, it would’ve been more because thousands are stuck on the border which Turkey has closed. Meanwhile, thousands of displaced face being dumped on the streets as the regime is warning them to evacuate schools ready for the beginning of the new school year. See the map for more info.

Click Here or on the preview below to view a detailed interactive map showing all the day’s events along with locations across Syria:

SUMMARY (03/09/2012): At least 235 martyrs have fallen today, mostly in Aleppo, Damascus and Daraa. 43 bodies were found in a mass grave al-Herak, Daraa province, and another 11 in Tafas. 25 were killed in the air strike on al-Bab. 21 people were slaughtered in al-Farraya district of Hama during raid by Assad’s forces, and 16 were executed in Qaboun, Damascus. Many martyrs are also reported in the fighting in the north and east of Lattakia province, which is often overlooked. Meanwhile, in Damascus yet another car bomb went off in Jaramana, the 4th in a week. Such a campaign of bombings seems designed to increase sectarian tensions in the capital. See the map for more info.
